Singapore , September 23, 2025 – The Asia Pacific Padel Tour made history in Singapore, hosting the very first APPT Masters event at the Hollandse Club. With a $20,000 prize pool and players representing over 15 nationalities, including Spain, France, Australia, Russia, Italy, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Argentina, Pakistan, Croatia, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Canada, the Singapore Masters proved to be a global celebration of padel.
The men’s draw became an instant classic. Spanish titans Sergi Nogueras & Marc Bernils and Pol Alsina & Eduard Altimires renewed their legendary rivalry in a dramatic three-set final that captivated a packed center court. After dropping the first set, Alsina & Altimires roared back 5-7, 7-6, 6-3, clinching the inaugural Masters crown. Fresh off their victory at the APPT Tokyo Open, Edu & Pol extended their winning streak and lifted back-to-back titles. With the Singapore triumph, Pol Alsina regains the World No.1 ranking, securing his ninth APPT title.

Local fans rallied behind Singapore-based players Timote Loew, Shane Marshall, and Enzo Chua, who brought the crowd to life with inspired performances.
Another major storyline came from Pakistan’s long-awaited debut in the Pro category. The team’s presence marked a symbolic first step ahead of October’s Karachi Grand Slam, the first APPT event ever hosted in Pakistan. The players expressed how proud and excited they were to join the APPT community and to soon welcome the circuit to their home nation.
On the women’s side, the spotlight belonged to Patricia Araus & Maria Cristina López. While newcomers to the APPT, the Spanish pair already boasted experience on the FIP circuit. Entering Singapore unseeded, they stunned the field, eliminating top seeds in a thriller semifinal against Japan’s Kotomi Ozawa & Kae Tokumoto before sweeping the final 6-0, 6-2 against Elisabeth Nogueras & Joanna Tao Yee Tan. Their statement run established them as immediate contenders on the Asian stage.

Amateur divisions once again showcased the region’s growing grassroots scene. The Amateur Male Final saw club members Julien Philippot (FRA) & Andrew Hill (AUS) dominate 6-0, 6-2, proving the strength of Singapore’s local padel community. In Amateur Female, Malaysia’s Jadeleen Lee Jiaee & Sharmilee Padmanathan won hearts and silverware with a commanding 6-0, 6-0 victory. The Amateur Mixed category told perhaps the most inspiring story: Emilia Milovanovic & Markus Henne defeated the No.1 seeds in the semifinals before overcoming Jadeleen Lee & Singapore’s Kristopher Tan in the final.
These amateur finals also carried a special sense of continuity from the Asia Pacific Padel Cup (APPC). Kristopher Tan, one of the captains of Singapore’s national team at the APPC, once again inspired local fans on court. His partner in the mixed final, Jadeleen Lee from Malaysia, had also been a standout at the APPC — and it was there that she first connected with Chris from Singapore. Their decision to team up for the Singapore Masters was a perfect example of how the APPC sparks friendships and partnerships that continue to grow within the APPT.

The Pro Mixed Final was an all-Spanish showdown with an extra twist: Elisabeth Nogueras faced her Pro Female partner Joanna Tao Yee Tan across the net. Playing alongside Marc Bernils, Nogueras powered to victory, repeating their Lombok success and defeating Argil Lance Cañizares & Joanna Tao Yee Tan in straight sets. Despite both falling short in their Pro Male and Pro Female finals, Nogueras and Bernils leave Singapore with a trophy and another memorable chapter in their partnership.
“The Singapore Masters was more than just a tournament. It was a statement, padel is ready to shine on Asia’s biggest stages,” said Carlos Carrillo, CEO of the Asia Pacific Padel Tour. “This week we saw over 15 nationalities competing, and inspiring stories like Pakistan, where the excitement of organizing their very first APPT Grand Slam already motivated players to come to Singapore. It’s also been beautiful to see how the Asia Pacific Padel Cup unites communities, with pairs competing here who first met at the APPC.”
The Singapore Masters has set a new benchmark for the APPT: a global stage, diverse participation, and unforgettable competition. It was more than a debut, it was the birth of a new era of Masters-level padel in Asia Pacific.
