Osaka, Japan – August 2026 – The Asia Pacific Padel Tour returns to Japan, and this time it arrives at Grand Slam level. The APPT Osaka Grand Slam runs August 28–30, 2026 at Padel Dojo, with a USD 13,000 prize pool and ranking points in every draw. Registration closes on August 23.
1. It’s Japan’s First-Ever APPT Grand Slam
APPT played its first Japanese event in September 2025, an Open in Tokyo. Japan has never hosted an APPT Grand Slam before. Notably, the step up arrives less than a year after that debut. For Japanese players, it means a bigger prize pool and more ranking points without leaving home.
2. USD 13,000 in Prize Money, Points in Every Draw
The Pro draws play for a USD 13,000 prize pool. Meanwhile, every Amateur result feeds the APPT Amateur Leaderboard. That leaderboard is the regional benchmark for competitive amateur padel across Asia Pacific.
3. Padel Dojo Is Building the Sport, Not Just Renting Courts
The host club sits in Amagasaki, in Hyogo Prefecture. Padel Dojo runs four indoor courts, with a café and bar, changing rooms and a pro shop on site. More importantly, the club also runs its own academy and hosts national-level competition. Indeed, that groundwork is why a Grand Slam can land here barely a year after APPT’s Japanese debut.
4. Unipadel Comes On Board as Official Sponsor
Unipadel is the Official Sponsor of the APPT Padel Dojo Grand Slam Osaka. The company builds padel courts and ranks as the largest manufacturer in South China. Furthermore, Unipadel will run a brand space at the venue through the weekend. Players can test its certified competition balls and pro rackets on site.
5. Getting There Is Easier Than the Address Suggests
A Hyogo address reads like a trip out of town. In practice, the courts sit close to central Osaka. From Umeda, take the Hanshin Line to Hanshin Amagasaki, around 10 minutes, then walk five minutes south. From Osaka Station, take the JR Kobe Line to JR Amagasaki, around 10 minutes. Then catch Hanshin Bus route 23 from the south exit to Amagasaki Sogo Bunka Center. From there, walk 10 minutes south. Note that Hanshin Amagasaki and JR Amagasaki are two different stations, roughly 1.5 km apart.
6. Between Osaka and Kobe, and Worth Extra Days
Osaka Namba is around 15 minutes from the courts on a direct train. Kobe sits a similar distance the other way. As a result, the area rewards an extra day or two. Amagasaki Castle stands a few minutes from Hanshin Amagasaki station. Torn down in 1873, it reopened as a rebuild in 2019. Nearby, a covered arcade of independent shops serves ankake chanpon, the city’s own noodle dish. Beyond that, Dotonbori, Osaka Castle and Kuromon Market are all a short train ride away.
