Batangas, Philippines – The Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT) made a thrilling return to Palm Beach Resort as the APPT Palm Beach Open Batangas II electrified San Juan from February 6–8, 2026.
Back on the coast where it all began, the event united international stars, national heroes, and new contenders in a weekend that brought elite padel back to the beach.
Batangas Sets a Benchmark for Equality and Excellence
This second edition of the Palm Beach Open made history as the first APPT event to feature equal prize money for male and female professionals — a major milestone made possible through the support of Padel Pilipinas, the official national federation.
The move marks a defining moment in the tour’s evolution, spotlighting gender equality as a core pillar of Asia’s growing padel ecosystem.

Defining Moments: Breakthroughs and Returns
The crowd was treated to the return of Japan’s Shungo Kusakabe 🇯🇵, APPT No.8 and three-time Japanese National Champion, back on the circuit following his 2025 season. Alongside fellow countryman Leon Aurelius Taira 🇯🇵 also returning for the first time this season, the Japanese duo’s dynamic presence elevated the competition and showcased Asia Pacific padel’s rising talent level.

Meanwhile, a Spanish duo turned heads in their APPT debut — Daniel Blanco Dopazo and Javier Pérez Morillas 🇪🇸 — who entered as wildcards and left as champions. Former World No.42 on the World Padel Tour, Pérez Morillas brought both precision and composure that anchored the pair’s path to the title, announcing a formidable new force on the tour.

In the Pro Female division, Joanna Tao Yee Tan 🇵🇠and Elisabeth Nogueras 🇪🇸 extended their remarkable run, claiming back-to-back titles just three weeks after their victory at the Pad Thai Padel Grand Slam in Bangkok. Their consistency and chemistry underline a dominant start to 2026 — with Tan now emerging as the face of a rapidly rising Filipino padel movement.
