Dubai, United Arab Emirates, October 15, 2025 – The Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT) closed another historic chapter this weekend with the Emirates NBD Masters Dubai 2025, the first APPT tournament ever held in the Middle East this 2025. Hosted at Padel Art from October 9 to 12, the event gathered more than one hundred teams from across the Asia Pacific region, including players residing in countries such as Spain, Italy, Argentina, Japan, Brazil and Australia, all united under one destination to compete at the highest level of the tour’s new Masters category.
Among them was Spanish football legend Andrés Iniesta, who teamed up with fellow Spaniard Daniel Casanova Bataller to compete in the Amateur draw. The pair advanced to the Round of 16, marking a remarkable debut for Iniesta in his first official APPT appearance and reflecting the inclusive, cross-cultural spirit that defines the tour.
Pro Categories – New Champions take over
The Pro Male category delivered a high-intensity finish to a week full of upsets.
In the semifinals, Fabricio Iván Peirón and Tito Allemandi (ARG) overcame Pol Alsina and Jan Masferrer (ESP) in a powerful display of experience and precision, while on the opposite side, Sergio Icardo Alcorisa and Francisco Jurado Sosa (UAE) stunned top seeds Nacho Gadea and Javier Puerto in a tight two-set battle that confirmed the depth of the field in Dubai.
In Sunday’s final, delivered one of the strongest performances of the season. Sergio Icardo Alcorisa and Francisco Jurado Sosa dominated throughout the week and capped their flawless run with a 6–4, 6–3 victory over Argentina’s Fabricio Iván Peirón and Tito Allemandi. The triumph marks their first APPT title together, confirming them as one of the new pairs to watch as the season heads toward its climax in Jakarta.

The Pro Female draw mirrored the same intensity. Semifinals saw Ángela Caro and Sol Pérez (ESP–ARG) edge out Iris Donate Murcia and Cristina Musial Navarro (ESP) in a thrilling three-set clash, while Ji Vichithong (THA) and María Martínez (ESP) booked their place in the final after defeating Joanna Tao Yee Tan and Mariam Yasmin Garsin (PHI–UAE).
In the title match, Caro and Pérez produced a brilliant performance built on consistency and attacking play, defeating Vichithong and Martínez 6–2, 6–3. The result gave both players their first APPT crown and positioned them among the tour’s most promising pairings heading into the final stretch of the season.

The Pro Mixed final also crowned new champions, as Carolina Gallo (ESP) and Arsham Moradi Nejad Marian (IRN) claimed victory over Sergil Dolmans (NED) and Larissa Lim (SGP) 6–1, 6–1. Their chemistry and tactical precision made them one of the revelations of the event, in a category that continues to showcase the diversity and reach of the APPT.
Amateur Divisions – Global Community in Action
In Amateur Male, the Brazilian pair Diego Almeida and Jeremias Gabriel Alves de Lima proved unstoppable, lifting the trophy after defeating Amr Hazem (EGY) and Marcel Louis (FRA) 6–3, 6–3.
The Amateur Female category was ruled by Nathalie Abdou and Nancy Karaky (LBN), who defeated Indriani Hadiwidjaja (INA) and Agne Caune (LVA) 6–3, 6–3.
In Amateur Mixed, Amr Hazem (EGY) and Tatyana Kutulaeva (UZB) fell just short losing 3–6, 6–2, 6–2 against Saeed Alketbi (UAE) and Sonya Gulnova (RUS), bringing the crowd to its feet in one of the most thrilling matches of the weekend.

With over 40 nationalities represented and Emirates NBD as Title Sponsor, the tournament reinforced Dubai’s growing role as a regional hub for international padel. Padel Art’s modern facilities and vibrant atmosphere provided the perfect stage for what many described as one of the most energetic events of the APPT calendar.

Rankings Update – October 2025
Following Dubai, the battle for No.1 in the men’s ranking has taken another twist.
In Pro Male, Pol Alsina regains the top spot with 14,950 points after Dubai, overtaking Sergi Nogueras Lorenz, who now sits at No.3 with 13,690. Eduard Altimires Ros climbs to No.2 with 14,440, keeping the fight for the year-end crown wide open ahead of the Jakarta Master Final. Marc Bernils (No.4, 13,540) remains within striking distance, while Japan’s Shungo Kusakabe holds firm at No.5 with 6,660.
In Pro Female, Japan’s Kotomi Ozawa continues to lead comfortably with 12,270 points, extending her dominance ahead of Elisabeth Nogueras (No.2, 10,070) and Joanna Tao Yee Tan (No.3, 8,960). Dubai champions Ángela Caro and Sol Pérez make a major jump into the Top 5, tied at No.4 with 6,000 points each, while Kae Tokumoto drops to No.6 after missing the event.

What’s Next on the APPT Calendar
The APPT now heads to Pakistan for a historic milestone as the Karachi Grand Slam (Oct 30 – Nov 2), presented by McDonald’s, marks the first-ever APPT tournament in the country. The event will represent a major stand point for the tour, introducing professional padel to one of South Asia’s most passionate sporting nations and expanding the APPT’s footprint into new territory. From there, the circuit continues its journey to Mumbai (Nov 6–9) before culminating with the Jakarta Master Final (Dec 18–21), the biggest event in Asia’s padel history, featuring a record $40,000 prize pool and closing what has been a landmark season for the tour.
