From March 8 to 10 Ho Chi Minh and Vietpadel hosted the 3rd APPT tournament of the season. 70 pairs and 110 players enjoyed three fantastic days of padel in male, female, and mix categories in Pro and Amateur mode.

Tim Brown (AUS) and Shungo Kusakabe (JPN) won in the Pro Male category

In the Pro Male category, it was a battle of nerves and skill as top-seeded players faced off against determined challengers. Meanwhile, in the Pro Female category, the action was equally fierce as dynamic partnerships showcased their teamwork and strategic prowess on the court. The duo of Rio Yamada (JPN) and Erika Ogawa (JPN) beat Karyn Emeralda (IND) and Komang Sri Maryati (IND) in 2 sets, 6-1/6-2.

First padel broadcast in Vietnam history in HTV

In addition, Sunday’s event was broadcast live by HTV (Ho Chi Minh TV), the main local channel for the population of nearly 9 million people. With a deployment of 2 mobile units, 6 cameras, and more than 30 professionals, the chain was the first to broadcast padel in Vietnam. The coverage of the event was total, and throughout the week, APPT took up space on the daily TV news.

Much more ahead

A special mention to AMGHEADWILSONROYAL PADELZAS and our esteemed host, Vietpadel Country Club. Your dedication and commitment to the sport of padel have made this tournament possible, and we are truly grateful for your invaluable contributions.

Hong Kong, from April 11 to 14 and Shenzhen from April 19 to 21 (only male) will be the next APPT stops. After Ho Chi Minh reception, the bar is high, but we are convinced that China will also respond. The host club will be Padel+ in Hong Kong and Sopa Padel in Shenzhen, and as is the case with all APPT events, the week will be dominated by padel, but will not forget the social, networking and partying that are so characteristic of APPT.
