Tournament's Terms and Conditions for Players
Objective: The APPT (Asia Pacific Padel Tour) organizes the Asian-Pacific Padel Tour (the “Tour”) consisting of multiple tournaments, with the goal of developing the sport internationally within the Asia-Pacific region.
- Duration: The agreement starts when accepted and remains valid until the next update.
- Player’s Obligations:
- Comply with all APPT and relevant sports association rules.
- Follow the match schedule, attend matches on time, and respect timelines.
- Compete with honesty, sportsmanship, and respect for other players and organizers.
- Assume responsibility for any injuries or damage caused by negligent behavior.
- Register on the official APPT website and submit partner details for each tournament on time.
- Abide by national and international anti-doping, integrity, and fair play regulations.
- Pay the tournament registration fees.
- Notify APPT of any withdrawals or changes before the registration deadline.
- If qualified as a Seed, attend clinics and promotional events and accept preferential conditions for future tournaments, including accommodation subsidies.
- If a player does not collect their prize in person, APPT is not required to send or provide the prize.
- Withdrawal Policy:
- Before Registration Deadline: Players who withdraw before the deadline will get a full refund minus a processing fee.
- After Registration Deadline: No refunds are given for withdrawals after the deadline.
- APPT’s Obligations:
- Plan, organize, and promote the Tour professionally.
- Pay the agreed prize amounts for players who reach specific stages of the tournament.
- Ensure the proper preparation of tournament facilities and player access during clinics and matches.
- Appoint an organizing committee to ensure smooth tournament execution.
- Maintain player safety and comply with relevant laws.
- Provide each player with at least two matches if they don’t have a wildcard (WC).
- APPT is not responsible for injuries; players must have their own insurance coverage for medical assistance, disability, and health-related issues.
- Insurance coverage must meet the tournament duration and cover medical and emergency assistance.
- Prizes:
- Players can win economic prizes based on their rankings in the tournament.
- Players must provide payment details for prize transfers.
- If a player violates the agreement (e.g., anti-doping), they lose the prize, which will be given to the next pair in the ranking.
- Prize eligibility is contingent on compliance with tournament rules.
- Benefits for Top Players:
- Top 4 ranked pairs male and top 2 ranked pairs female in the professional category will receive free accommodation during tournaments.
- If any of the top 4 players cannot attend, the benefit will pass to the next eligible pair.
- Image Rights:
- The PLAYER grants APPT the non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, and worldwide right to use their name, image, photograph, voice, visual representation, or any other element belonging to their personal image
- (hereinafter, the “image”) for the purposes established in this participation agreement necessary for the proper development of the Tour and for the promotion and advertising of the event, including, by way of example but not limited to, television broadcasts, print publications, online marketing, and social media. The PLAYER also waives any additional compensation for the use of their image and intellectual property rights in accordance with the provisions of this agreement.
- Confidentiality:
- Players must maintain strict confidentiality regarding any tournament-related information, including documents, strategies, and any proprietary details accessed during the Tour.
- Players cannot share, copy, or disclose confidential information without APPT’s written consent.
- Breach and Penalties:
- Violations (e.g., missed matches, negative publicity) may lead to termination of participation.
- Social media posts discrediting APPT may lead to collaboration termination and potential penalties.
- Termination of Participation:
- APPT can terminate a player’s participation if they miss scheduled events, breach any tournament obligations, or if there are insufficient player registrations.
- If any force majeure or unforeseen event occurs, APPT may suspend or terminate participation, notifying players in writing.
- Players agree not to impede the tournament if APPT fails to meet its obligations or faces financial issues.
- Sponsors:
- Sponsor placement is limited to specific spots on clothing (3 on the front, 2 on the back, and 1 on each sleeve).
- Players must not sign sponsorship deals with brands that could damage APPT’s image.
- Players must share their personal data with sponsors when required.
- Suspensive Condition:
- The tournament is subject to APPT obtaining financing. If APPT fails to secure the necessary funds, the tournaments may not proceed as planned.
- Data Protection:
- APPT will act as a data processor, handling players’ personal data according to applicable data protection laws.
- APPT is responsible for processing personal data only for the purpose of the Tour and will not disclose it to third parties without player consent.
- Players can exercise their rights (e.g., data access, rectification, erasure) by contacting APPT. APPT is obligated to notify players of any data breaches.
- Players’ personal data must be returned or deleted after the Tour’s conclusion.
- Applicable Law and Jurisdiction:
- This agreement is governed by Spanish law.
- Any disputes will be resolved under the jurisdiction of the courts in Madrid, Spain, with no alternative jurisdictions considered.
