Introducing APPT Challengers

Here’s what you need to know…

The APPT are delighted to announce the launch of a new Tournament level, Challenger. These are run by local clubs, but are linked to, and powered by the APPT.

The challenger sits below an Open level tournament, so offers smaller prize money and APPT ranking points, but still the same high levels of fun and quality.

The categories remain the same, with Pro and Amateur categories for Mixed, Female and Male. However, there is one crucial element, which make a Challenger so different to an Open or Grand Slam.

In the Pro categories, the Top 30 ranked Male players and Top 20 ranked Female players in the APPT rankings can not play together.

This sets a new challenge for all players, giving some ranked a little lower the chance to partner with a top ranked player, or even beat a top ranked player!

The first Challenger will take place in Bali at the Amare club Umalas on March 7-9. You can register here

You never know which top player might be looking for a new partner.. here’s your chance to play with the number 1s! Pol Alsina and Kotomi Ozawa – its time to expect some requests!
