INCREDIBLE APPT MANILA OPEN 2024 WEEK

MANILA PROVES THAT APPT HAS COME TO PUT PADEL WHERE IT DESERVES IN ASIA

The APPT Manila Open 2024 concluded in a crescendo of exhilarating matches, showcasing the pinnacle of padel talent and sportsmanship over the past week. The tournament, held at the esteemed Manila Padel Club, witnessed intense competition, surprising upsets, and unforgettable moments that left fans on the edge of their seats.

In the singles category, it was a battle of nerves and skill as top-seeded players faced off against determined challengers. In a thrilling finale, Miguel Briega and Dani Bressel of Spain emerged victorious, displaying his trademark finesse and power to clinch the title. Martin Nochesse and Joseph Serra stood up in a final that was decided by the Spanish couple in the third set.

Meanwhile, in the female category, the action was equally fierce as dynamic partnerships showcased their teamwork and strategic prowess on the court. The duo of Kae Tukumoto and Saki Tsukamoto, hailing from Japan, beat Patricia García and Constanza Kokorelis in a thrilled final.

“The level of competition at APPT Manila Open has been truly exceptional,” remarked Tournament Director and APPT CEO & Founder, Álex Domenech. “We’ve witnessed some incredible displays of skill and determination from players across the board, and it’s a testament to the growing popularity and competitiveness of padel on the international stage but specially in Asia.”

Beyond the on-court battles, the APPT Manila Open 2024 also provided a platform for the promotion and development of padel in the Asia-Pacific region. The amateur category aims to, as has happened in all the countries where padel has entered, become a mass sport.

“We’re thrilled with the success of this year’s tournament and grateful for the support of the padel community here in Manila,” said Carlos Carrillo, CEO & Founder of APPT. “Events like the APPT Manila Open are instrumental in raising awareness and fostering enthusiasm for padel in our region, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the years to come.”

“APPT not only showcased the prowess of padel players but also highlighted the immense potential for brands in this burgeoning market. As padel continues to gain traction globally, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region, brands have a unique opportunity to capitalize on the sport’s popularity and engage with a diverse and passionate audience. For sponsors and partners associated with the tournament, APPT provided a valuable platform to connect with fans, players, and stakeholders in the padel community. By aligning themselves with the excitement and prestige of a high-profile event like the APPT Manila Open, brands were able to enhance their visibility, expand their reach, and strengthen their brand image among a targeted demographic.” said Pau Vergés, Marketing APPT Director.

As the curtains close on the APPT Manila Open 2024, the excitement and passion for padel continue to reverberate throughout the sport’s global community. With unforgettable moments and inspiring performances, this year’s tournament has undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the world of padel, setting the stage for even greater achievements and milestones in the future.

A special mention to AMGHEADWILSONROYAL PADELZASWPA (Women’s Padel Association), and our esteemed host, Manila Padel Club. Your dedication and commitment to the sport of padel have made this tournament possible, and we are truly grateful for your invaluable contributions.

Ho Chi Minh, from March 8 to 10 will be the next APPT stop. After Manila’s reception the bar is high, but we are convinced that Ho Chi Minh will also respond. The host club will be Vietpadel Country Club and as is the case with all APPT events, the week will be dominated by padel but will not forget the social, networking and partying that is so characteristic of APPT.
