From September 26 to 29 Jakarta and Padel Pro Kemang hosted the 8th APPT tournament of the season. More than 100 pairs and 170 players from 30 different nationalities enjoyed three fantastic and crazy days of padel in male, female, and mix categories in Pro and Amateur modes.

Sergi Nogueras and Marc Bernils won in the Pro Male category

In the Pro Male category, it was a 3 sets battle among the 4 Catalan players. Sergi and Marc were facing Pol and Marc in a match that is “common” in Barcelona but was happening for the first time in Asia. The men’s final, which closed the sporting part of the event, was decided in an exciting third set and allowed players and spectators to enjoy a very high level of padel. At the end, 6/4, 4/6, 6/4 for Sergi and Marc, but we’re sure there will be more battles between those two teams soon!

Kotomi Ozakawa and Sayaka Yoshimoto won in the Pro Female category

Meanwhile, in the Pro Female category, the action was equally fierce as dynamic partnerships showcased their teamwork and strategic prowess on the court. Kotomi and Sayaka won in 2 sets, 6-3/6-2 against Joanna Tao (PH) and Maria Mayoral (ES).

Kotomi Ozakawa (again) and Nobuto Yanagiya won in the Pro Mix category

Finally, the Pro Mix category was also for a Japanese team. Kotomi and Nobuto beat Bea and Panji in a 2 sets match 6/2, 6/4.

After Jakarta, the bar continued to rise. However, the APPT YOU·C1000 GRAND SLAM not only met expectations, but exceeded them in terms of padel level. The combination of local players, from nearby cities and countries and the Tour faithful turned the event into a success for participation and community.

Players and spectators not only got to enjoy the hospitality of the entire Padel Pro Kemang team, but also the Official and closing afterparty party event where a lot of players and community around APPT joined.

The first Grand Slam of this 3 tournaments “mini stage” is over, but the show continues in Singapore… This week!

Asia Pacific Padel Tour (APPT) played its first tournament in November 2024 in Bali, Indonesia. The Tour aims to promote padel in Asia and provide opportunities for local professional players to grow in Asia Pacific.

With this mission, APPT has played seven tournaments in Bali (Indonesia), Manila (Philippines), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Hong Kong (China), Shenzhen (China), Phuket (Thailand), Bali (Indonesia) and now, Jakarta. In addition, before the end of the year, it will pass through at least Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and the UAE. So, the season will close with more than 10 tournaments in different countries in Asia Pacific.

In terms of participants, the Tour already has more than 1100 registered participants from 76 different countries. Among these, players from local countries stand out, but there is also a significant community of European players (especially Spanish) who live in Asia or travel to play in the various tournaments. It should be noted that the circuit draws players to each city where a tournament is held, and this factor is key to the growth of APPT. In addition, the tournament is creating a loyal community, and good proof of this is that 45% of the participants are in the amateur category and come from different Eastern countries.

A special mention to YOU·C1000AMGHEADWILSONROYAL PADELZAS, Supernatural+, Volvo and MayBank. Your dedication and commitment to the sport of padel is making this tour possible, and we are truly grateful for your invaluable contributions.
